Emerging from the bramble choked wilderness of an abandoned plant nursery Potager is now a relaxing and beautiful haven to rest a while. With mature trees - once nursery stock and lush herbaceous planting interspersed with fruit and vegetables Potager aims to demonstrate the beauty of productive organic gardening. In Alistair Sawdays recently published guide to ‘slow England’ Potager was selected for its uniquely calm atmosphere.
There are games to play, hammocks to laze in, boule and badminton to enjoy. Table tennis nestles amongst an indoor garden within a 100 foot glasshouse where visitors can sit, paint or even snooze!
An old wooden greenhouse provides more shelter and sustenance. With books, newspapers and more table games, the café offers homemade cakes, lunches, teas and ice cream.
To celebrate our 10th Anniversary, we're offering season tickets for the the usual entry price of £2.50 (concessions £2, children free) - enjoy Potager all summer long...
Furthermore, if you arrive on foot, by bike or on the bus, entry is free...
