Exhibition – Theo Crutchley-Mack

Theo’s first solo exhibition in Cornwall exhibits a new series of paintings made in response to a selection of mud-lark findings along the river Helford and Fal. From gnarly lumps of driftwood to mud-soaked timbers of old sunken boats.

The works are sculpted from thin layers of veneer and heavy textures, forming chunky wall mounted panels that push the boundary between sculpture and painting.

‘…I’ve focused on tiny areas of detail in my mud-lark river findings, blowing them up into large abstract forms, magnifying the macro details of old wood.’
