Potager Community Garden CIC

Founded in 2023, our Community Interest Company (CIC) is dedicated to offering social and therapeutic horticulture, making our garden a welcoming and accessible space for everyone in the community.

Thanks to generous funding from The Community Capacity Fund, The National Lottery, and The Community Leveling Up Programme, we are now running three different groups, each designed to support wellbeing, connection, and hands-on engagement with nature.

We believe in the power of gardening to bring people together, improve mental and physical health, and create a greener, more inclusive community.

Join us and grow with us!

Mondays – Potager Working Lunch

A monthly gathering on Mondays for carers and those they support. Initially designed as respite time for carers, most choose to stay, getting involved in gardening or preparing lunch – either is fine!

Wednesdays – Greenhouse Kitchen

A five-week programme that helps young parents build confidence in the kitchen. Wednesday afternoons focusing on simple, nutritious, and family-friendly meals.

Fridays – Framework at Potager

Hands-on horticulture and cooking workshops for adults who feel isolated, disconnected or excluded.

A rolling 12 week programme on Fridays throughout the year

Community Capacity Fund

The Community Capacity Fund supported the development of this project by funding a feasibility study and community engagement.

National Lottery Community Fund

We’re delighted to have received a grant from The Community Fund to Social and Therapeutic Horticulture sessions at Potager. This is helping to support three groups running at Potager this year.

Community Levelling Up Programme

We have been awarded a grant by the Community Levelling Up Programme to develop new, wheelchair accessible growing space in the garden and to renovate part of our greenhouse to provide a social space, plant propagation area and a fully fitted kitchen.
