This is a gathering for parents and carers of young children to get a boost of wellbeing and connect with your community through singing together. Babies and kids, and all shapes and sizes of family welcome!
What to expect – we will do a short body and voice warm up, and learn 3 or 4 songs and enjoy singing them together. We will also do some simple breathing, mindfulness and movement exercises that are really effective for positive mental health. You will leave this session with some simple songs you and your children can enjoy singing together at home, and some relaxation activities to help you feel calm and connected.
No singing or musical experience necessary, we learn ‘by ear’ and sing together so you won’t be put on the spot. We sing easy to learn chants, rounds and harmony songs in 2 or 3 parts from around the world – a bit different from your typical nursery rhymes or choir repertoire! Songs are aimed at adults but kids enjoy them too!
