Sculpt an under life size portrait bust in clay over two days. Working from a life model, create a portrait sculpture on a pre-prepared armature which will be hollowed and fired in the Potager kiln.
Over two days in the calm and quiet of the Potager studio we will cover the basics of facial structure, capturing likeness and creating beautiful texture. Participants will be introduced to techniques for approaching the portrait, with in depth instruction on methods for tacking the features and their placement and balance on the face. Our experienced and professional life model will be present for the entire two days, allowing for constant reference and, where needed, measurement.
Breaks will be taken in the beautiful garden. The workshop will run from 10am-4pm including an hour for lunch, which participants can bring or purchase from the café.
All materials, equipment and model fees are included in the price.
This workshop would suit any participant at any level of experience, but would especially appeal to those with some background in life drawing or portraiture. The workshop is wheelchair accessible
