This hand-building pottery workshop is a 4.5 hour class with Potager’s resident potters Emily Mason and Aimee Jewitt-Harris. During the workshop Emily and Aimee will demonstrate a range of techniques used for pinch potting and slab building in order for you to create your very own plant pots / vessels. The workshop is suitable for all adults and will allow people to experiment and play with form, mark making, and sculptural elements.
Using terracotta clay, your pieces will be dried and fired at Potager, ready for you to collect 2 weeks after the course when you will have the opportunity to purchase plants should you wish to turn your creations into a home. You will have the opportunity to produce at least 2 pieces by the end of the session. All materials will be provided. Terracotta is quite messy, we will provide aprons but please don’t wear your finest clothes!
The workshop will take place in Potager’s cafe space. Class includes tea/coffee/cake.
