This hand-building pottery workshop is a 4.5 hour class with Potager’s Resident Potter Aimee Jewitt-Harris. During the workshop you will create slab built terracotta pieces and learn various decorative techniques including texture, pattern, relief impressions, sgraffito and slip application. The workshop is suitable for all adults with any (or no) experience in pottery and will allow participants to experiment and play with form and mark making, drawing inspiration from the stunning surroundings at Potager
Using terracotta clay, your pieces will be dried and fired at Potager, ready for you to collect 2-3 weeks after the course. You will have the opportunity to produce at least 3 pieces by the end of the session, and all materials will be provided. Terracotta is quite messy, we will provide aprons but please don’t wear your finest clothes!
The workshop will take place in Potager’s café space, but if the weather is nice then we will work in the top greenhouse. Class includes tea/coffee/cake. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
Reservations are essential and can be made by buying a ticket on our web site. If you buy a ticket and are not able to make it, please let us know as soon as you can – we’ll do our best to fill your place but if we can’t, we will be unable to make a refund.
