Ceramic Mushroom Making Workshop – Saturday 14th November 2026

Come and spend a gentle creative day in beautiful surroundings, learning to make ceramic mushrooms. Those new to clay and old hands equally welcome. All tools, materials, and firing provided.

Using Cornish stoneware, porcelain, black stoneware clays and coloured slips you will make and decorate a small collection of ceramic mushrooms. Either designed to hang up as decorations or as free standing curiosities.

With Amy’s support and guidance you will spend the morning session creating your mushrooms and after a break for lunch we will reconvene to decorate your pieces using specially prepared slips and glazes. You can make your fungi as realistic or magical as you like!

I will transport them back to my studio to dry before single firing them in my kiln. Your fired pieces will be available to collect from Potager or from my studio near Truro approximately 3 weeks later. Alternatively I can post them to you for a small fee.

Amy Cooper is a renowned Cornish ceramicist who has been creating ceramic curiosities professionally for over 20 years. She has led many workshops and community projects and genuinely relishes sharing her love of all things clay with anyone who is interested!

There will be delicious wholesome vegetarian food as well as cakes and beverages available
from the Café or you are welcome to bring a packed lunch if you prefer.
