Lithodora diffusa ‘Heavenly Blue’. This low, spreading, evergreen shrub is a real eye-catcher in spring with it’s stunning array of deep blue flowers.

Leucojum vernum looking very much like a tall snowdrop makes a lovely display mixed in with the daffodils.

Tricyrtis hirta is a member of the lily family and commonly known as the toad lily. It’s purple spotted petals are quite gorgeous when seen up close. It will happily grow in dappled to full shade, though here at Potager it is planted in a fairly sunny spot.

The very lovely Amaryllis belladonna which greets you in the entrance to the large glasshouse. Such a treat to have these large bright flowers when so many of plants in the garden have gone over now.

Tropaeolum majus better known as nasturtiums. The leaves and flowers are edible and have a lovely peppery taste which can add a nice perk to a green salad. They are also great for ground cover or in a hanging basket.

Orthrosanthus mulitflorus is a member of the iris family. With vibrant blue petals against the bright yellow anthers, it’s one of our favourites.
