Join Janice M to sing and bring in the Winter season among the relaxing and beautiful haven of Potager Garden. During this unique and immersive experience you will quickly learn simple melodies and harmonies of beautiful songs in a friendly, group atmosphere. The workshop will take place in the glasshouse cafe where we can keep warm by the log burner whilst looking out to the gardens on a beautiful winter’s morning. Guided by singer and vocal coach, Janice M, participants will sing a cappella whilst being inspired by nature, creating a memorable and shared experience.
The Winter Wild Singing Workshop will include fun engaging warm-ups through to good vocal techniques, which you can apply long after leaving the event. It is an experience is for singers of all abilities, including complete beginners, and will be taught by ear with no experience of reading music necessary. Your song lyrics will be provided on beautiful bespoke designed postcards for you to keep. Wild Singing is all about being inspired by the great outdoors and feeling good.
Tea or coffee will be served on arrival, finishing with a hearty seasonal soup and hunk of sourdough bread for lunch, all included as part of the workshop. Participants are welcome to wander round the gardens before and after the workshop.
Born in Cumbria and residing in Cornwall for the last ten years, Janice M has performed for private and public events and in venues all over the Southwest. From jazz to soul, folk to gospel, she fuses a range of genres in her own inimitable vocal style.
Alongside singing in Cornwall-based band The Grace Notes, Janice M is a vocal coach and works regularly with various community groups. Janice M has ran her Wild Singing Workshops at Port Eliot Festival, Enys Gardens and Trebah Gardens.
Timings for the morning are:
10am: Arrive to tea and coffee served & optional wander round the gardens
10.30am – 12 noon: Wild Singing Workshop
12 noon: Lunch of a hearty seasonal soup with hunk of sourdough bread & an optional wander round the gardens
Tickets are non-refundable.
This particular workshop is purely for adults. The cafe will be closed to the public, so will be solely for the use of the workshop.
